This exceptional cutting instrument is intended as a statement about the bladesmithing trade in general and flat-forging in particular. In its details, the discerning eye recognise a special, old forging technique combined with our traditional grinding methods, two skills that deserve to be preserved. The material chosen for the blade is carbon steel with a high content of ca. 1,1 % carbon, not easy to forge and temper. It is hardened to 60/61 HRC. Where the handle and the blade meet, a small step is visible. This is a typical sign of a flat-forged knife, which is why we left the oxidised surface that forms during forging untouched here – a detail that further sets this knife apart from its die-forged counterparts.
